Indian cueist Sourav Kothari’s campaign at the World Billiards Championship came to an end as with the runners-up title as he was beaten by Peter Gilchrist in the summit clash. The Indian had got the better of Mike Russell and compatriot Pankaj Advani in the earlier rounds of the global event.

Defending champion Sourav Kothari defeated multiple-time World Champion Mike Russell in the semi-final and book his second consecutive World Billiards final in Melbourne on Sunday. Kothari’s dominance was such that Russell conceded defeat with 45 minutes remaining in the four-hour contest.

Ace Indian cueist Pankaj Advani has made it to the semi-finals of the ongoing Asian Billiards tournament in Chandigarh. Advani is the only Indian to stay alive in the competition as Dhruv Sitwala, Sourav Kothari and Dhvaj Haria all have lost in their respective quarter-final matches.
