Bengaluru FC coach Carles Cuadrat has stated that not having three players, two due to injury and one due to the red card in the match, he is very happy with the result against the Delhi Dynamos. After the win, Bengaluru FC sit on the top of the points table as the season moves to the halfway mark.

A lone goal made all the difference in the match between Bengaluru FC and Delhi Dynamos as the former defeated the latter 1-0 at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Monday. Most of the match was played without a goal being scored but in the 87th minute, Bengaluru FC’s Udanta Singh managed a goal from 20 meters to give Bengaluru the three points. Bengaluru’s coach Carles Cuadrat was pleased with the win considering the fact that he was missing three key players, particularly Miku and Eric Paartalu, from the starting XI.

"We have been using more or less the same team throughout the season because we were getting results. So, when you lose three players who have been participating a lot like Erik Paartalu, Miku and Dimas Delgado, you have to readjust everything. Of course, you cannot demand the same level of football because it is different. But the guys were giving their best to get the points and we can be very happy because of the result," Cuadrat said after the game, the ISL website reported.

The coach also sounded optimistic regarding the injuries his players sustained. He stated that hopefully his players will be able to return quickly after recovering from their injuries and he may not have to replace them

"I hope it is not the kind of injuries where you lose the player for a long time. We are not working with that thought. It was just an unfortunate moment in the season when Dimas got a red card and Erik and Miku got injured. I hope we don’t need to sign any players."

On the other hand, Delhi Dynamos do not seem to be learning from their mistakes as they yet again lost the match in which they had many chances to take a lead. The coach Josep Gambau too was devastated and hinted that his men lost a match in which they shoul have won

"From the very beginning, we had the same problem. We are one of the teams that have created the most number of chances in the league. Because we are at the bottom, someone will think that we are crazy when we say that we are playing good football," he opined.

"If I’m being honest, we should have led by two or three goals at half-time. Football is this. You can create a lot of chances, but if you miss and they score, the game is finished."
