ISL franchise Delhi Dynamos have brought in midfielder Xisco Hernandez from Bengaluru FC ahead of the sixth season. Delhi coach Josep Gombau has stated that the inclusion of Hernandez will bring in a lot to the team for the upcoming season of the league which will begin later this year.

After playing an important role for the Bengaluru FC in the last edition of the Indian Super League, Spanish midfielder Xisco Hernandez will now be seen in the Delhi Dynamos camp in 2019-20 edition of the league. In the previous edition of the tournament, he played 20 games for the defending champions where he scored once and assisted on five occasions. His inclusion might help Josep Gombau getting a versatile attacking option as the Spaniard can be effective as an attacking midfield and also on the flanks.

“As a coach, I am so happy to have him in my squad. He’s a player who will bring a lot to us, both inside and outside the field. He is a player who is familiar with India and more importantly, he has won the ISL,” Gombau was quoted as saying by Sportstar.

After playing in the Spanish Segunda Division B for most of his career, Hernandez played in the 2018-19 season of the ISL which was also his first domestic football tournament outside Spain. He has expressed his happiness after joining the team from the national capital.

"I am happy to be back in India after a successful first season outside Spain. Coach Gombau has vested immense trust in me and I am very sure that I will be able to deliver as per his expectations. Delhi has a very young squad and I see a lot of potential in the team. Once again, really happy to join Delhi Dynamos and I can't wait to roar," expressed Hernandez.

After Barcelona B defender Diawandou Diagne, Hernandez is the second signing for the Delhi side ahead of the season. Gombau had also decided to retain another Spanish midfielder Marcos Tebar ahead of the sixth season.
