Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to return for Al Nassr against Al Ittihad after briefly going on strike over funding concerns. Despite earning around £500,000 daily and having 18 months left on his contract with a £43m release clause, he felt his club lacked support. Officials believe he will now resume playing.

In the latest developments surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at Al Nassr, the Portuguese star has returned to training after briefly considering his position in Saudi Arabia. His concerns were linked to what he believes is unequal financial support from the Public Investment Fund, which also backs rival clubs Al Hilal, Al Ahli, and Al Ittihad. Ronaldo was unhappy that his club made limited signings in January, while Al Hilal strengthened their squad by signing Karim Benzema. Al Nassr’s only major addition was young midfielder Hayder Abdulkareem, which Ronaldo felt showed a lack of ambition.

Despite earning around £500,000 per day, Ronaldo reportedly went on strike and missed a league match against Al Riyadh. However, officials now expect him to play against Al Ittihad, especially since he is contractually obliged unless injured. He still has 18 months left on his deal, which includes a £43 million release clause, even as he approaches his 41st birthday.

Saudi officials remain surprised by his dissatisfaction, stressing that league funding is fair and regulated. They also noted that Al Nassr have already spent about £100 million this season. From their perspective, Ronaldo continues to have full support, and the league believes the title race remains open and competitive.
