India are the new Asian Junior Champions! The Juniors decimated arch-rivals Pakistan 6-2 in the summit clash in Malaysia. India and Pakistan are now joint-leaders for the most number of titles, 3 each, in the tournament’s history.
Stat of the day: 6 matches, 6 wins, 36 goals! Not only the final, India dominated the entire tournament.
Star of the day: Harmanpreet Singh scored 4 goals (all from penalty corners) and finished as the leading goal-scorer, 14 from 6 matches!
The Senior team, unfortunately, did not have the same luck. After leading for the first 3 quarters and looking good for a win, they let the Aussies score two goals in quick succession in Q4 to lose the game 1-2, their first defeat in 5 matches.

Defending Champions Atletico De Kolkata stamped their class humiliating FC Goa 4-0 and in the process, displaced them as league leaders. Sameehg Doutie starred for Atletico with a brace!
Earlier in the day, FC Goa coach Zico complained about the shoddy facilities provided by Atletico – looks like Atletico had a well planned strategy during and before the game J Also, Kolkata, more and more, looking like CSK of ISL – slow start to season with thumping victories as the season progresses.
Pic of the day- Sir Jadeja!
