Rio Olympics got over a week back, but India’s Sports Minster Vijay Goel, who has been in the news for all wrong reasons during the Olympics, is back with another gaffe. The Minister called PV Sindhu and Sakshi Malik as gold medallists to once again become a laughing stock on the social media.

For India’s Sports Minister Vijay Goel last few weeks have been filled with errors. During Rio Olympics, he was pulled up by the authorities for his ‘unruly entourage ‘, who were allegedly aggressive and rude. After receiving an official warning from the authorities at Rio, the politician made a gaffe on Twitter by getting gymnast Dipa Karmakar’s name wrong. He also posted a picture of 100m runner Dutee Chand to wish 200m sprinter Srabani Nanda luck during the Games.

A week after the Games, he is once again back in the news, again for the wrong reasons. Rio Olympics silver medallist PV Sindhu and bronze medallist Sakshi Malik met the Prime Minister on Sunday along with Jitu Rai and Dipa Karmakar. But, in a media briefing, the Minister called PV Sindhu and Sakshi Malik as gold medallists to once again become a reason for all the jokes on the social media.
