Aditi Ashok becomes the first Indian women to win European Tour Golf title

Indian teenage golfer Aditi Ashok has become the first Indian woman to clinch a European Tour title by winning the Women's Indian Open at the DLF Golf and Country Club in Gurgaon. Aditi finished the final day with a score of 3 under par to claim the title and write her name in the history books.

Aditi, who started the day with a two-stroke lead, shot a level par 72 in the final round to take her tally to 3 under 213 in the final round to edge out  American Brittany Lincicome and Spaniard Belen Mozo by a single point. 

Aditi carded birdies on the par 4 2nd and 10th holes, and bogeys on the 7th, 13th and 17th in the final round. She needed to card at least a birdie on the final hole to avoid a three-way tie with Brittany Lincicome and Belen Mozo. The Indian held here nerve and  did it in grand style by securing the 13th birdie of the tournament on the par 5. 

With this victory, Aditi became the first Indian women to clinch a European Tour title. 

Among other Indians, Vani Kapoor shot 3 over par, and finished T-28 with an overall score of 9 over 225 whereas Amandeep Drall, Diksha Dagar and Gaurika Bishnoi finished tied-34, tied-44 and tied-55 respectively.
