Survey reveals Manchester United have highest wages in world football

According to a global survey, Manchester United have the highest wages in world football, with the first-team getting a basic salary of £5.77 million per year. The Premier League also tops the charts as the best-paid football league with £48,766 a week is being paid on average to first-team players.

The survey, which was carried out after considering the pay of almost 10,000 sportsmen in 333 teams in seven sports across 17 of the world's richest leagues, declared that Man United have the highest wages now. Apart from having the highest wages in world football, Man United have also been declared as the fourth best-paid team in world sport. 

Along with United, the premier league has also been accorded as the best-paid football league of the planet with an average first-team pay of £2,438,275, or £48,766 a week, which is the double of La Liga, that has  wages of more than £1.2m per player per year. This happened due to the new TV deals signed by Premier League with Sky and BT Sport.

Barcelona have been declared as the second best-paid club in the world football and 5th overall in sports, by averaging £5.6m per player a year, or £109,000 a week. United's cross-town rivals Manchester City are third on the list with a yearly spending of £5.4m and as far as the sports world is concerned they ar ranked No 9.

Due to the Brexit’s effect on the Dollar and new TV deal, American NBA clubs have become the greatest beneficiary, as they sit on the top two positions. MLB team, New York Yankees come in third on the list.
