Olympic Gold Quest has announced to support to 2017 World Weightlifting Champion Mirabai Chanu, who lifted a new national record of 194 kgs to win the Gold medal at the World Championships in Anaheim. She became only the second Indian weightlifter after Karnam Malleswari to achieve that feat.

Chanu buried the demons of the forgettable outing at the Rio Olympics to become the first Indian in over two decades to win a gold medal at the World Weightlifting Championship. Chanu lifted a total of 194kg in the women’s 48kg to set a new national record as well.

Chanu lifted 85kg in snatch and 109kg in clean and jerk to total an impressive 194kg in the women’s 48kg category at the World Weightlifting Championship in Anaheim, USA. Chanu’s outing, last year, in Rio ended with a disappointing performance as she could not get an overall total in women’s 48kg after failing to lift the weight in any of her three attempts in clean & jerk section. And now, ahead of the Commonwealth Games, OGQ has decided to showcase their support.

After signing the deal, Chanu said, "I am very happy to be supported by OGQ. They have already been very proactively supporting me for the last 3 months. My dream is to win an Olympic Gold medal and I am confident that OGQ can play a big role towards achieving my dream."

CEO of OGQ, Viren Rasquinha said, "Mirabai is a world class athlete and we are very proud to support her. Currently, OGQ is supporting Mirabai with a sports psychologist and a sports nutritionist. We will give our best to support Mirabai with world class facilities in her quest to win an Olympic medal."

Mirabai is the first weightlifter to be supported by OGQ. She participates in 48kgs category and will be competing at the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast on 5th April 2018.

Bale attempted 2.6 shots per game this SLL, while Benzema has attempted 2 shots.
