Asia-Pacific Diamond Golf Cup | Concrete start for Gaganjeet Bhullar; mixed performance by other Indians on Day 1

Indian golfer Gaganjeet Bhullar had a strong start on the first day of the Asia-Pacific Diamond Cup while other Indian golfers put together a mixed performance. At the end of the opening day, Bhullar with a proper four-under 67, finished the day with tied sixth at Mushahi Country Club in Japan.

Bhullar has recorded eight top 10s finish in the year 2018. He started off really well on the first day of Asia-Pacific Diamond Cup as well. He also won in the Fiji International and has maintained a good form throughout this season.

He stands four shots behind the leader Daijiro Izumida and Danthai Boonma in the Asia-Pacific Diamond Cup. Both of them shot a six-under-par 65 at the Mushahi Country Club.

On the other hand, Rahil Gangjee finished with a tied 15th with a three-under 68 on the first day while Ajeetesh Sandhu finished tied 22nd with a two-under 69.

Viraj Madappa, Shiv Kapur and Arjun Atwal, all of them finished the first day with tied 69th with a one-over 72. Chirag Kumar finished with tied 82nd, having carded 73 and Rashid Khan was tied 111.

Bhullar had managed more than 77 percent greens in regulation, though he found only 50 percent fairways and was in the need of 28 putts. Justin Harding of South Africa and Zimbabwe's Scott Vincent are also tied sixth, along with Bhullar.
