India Golf Round up | Anirban Lahiri finishes strongly; Diksha Dagar ranked sixth in Switzerland

Anirban Lahiri holed a hat-trick of birdies from 14th to 16th to end the first round of the Memorial Tournament on Thursday with a total score of five-under 67. Meanwhile, female golfer Diksha Dagar impressed again as she finished sixth in the Ladies Championship Puidoux in Switzerland.

Indian ace golfer Anirban Lahiri bagged a hat-trick of birdies from 14th to 16th as he ended the first round of the Memorial Tournament strongly on Thursday. Lahiri shot five-under 67 but could have ended the opening day better having earlier missed a seven-footer on the 18th and earlier two others under 10 feet.

Lahiri, who was 2-under through the first nine, birdied 10th but bogeyed 12th and was still 2-under. However, three birdies in a row ensured that he would go to five-under and rose up the leaderboard.

Meanwhile, India’s premier female golfer Diksha Dagar in a hole-in-one to lie tied-sixth after round one of the Ladies Championship Puidoux in Switzerland. 

Dagar, winner of the Women’s South African Open, shot two-under 70 and was lying tied-sixth with two birdies, two bogeys and an ace. She used an 8-Iron and aced the 15th for her first hole in one on the international platform as a pro.
