Massimo Costantini to stay with Indian Table Tennis team as consultant

India’s former table tennis coach Massimo Costantini will stay as a consultant with the team. After servicing as a head coach for two successfully years, Costantini will help paddlers consulting about health and fitness, injuries, and more, and return to India after his contract with IITF.

Indian Table Tennis Coach - Massimo Costantini, who resigned from his post recently will work as a consultant with the team. Confirming the same, the TTIF secretary MP Singh informed on Friday that the Italian wants to return as a coach once the contract with International Table Tennis Federation is completed. 

“Costantini, who will take over as a high-performance director of ITTF, is obligated to work for only for 100 days in a calendar year for the world body. He has assured us that he will work as a consultant with our players during his free time. He also wants to return to India after his contract with ITTF expires next year,” Singh told TOI.

Earlier, the Sports Authority Of India (SAI) had given a nod to appoint a coach individually for the junior and the senior teams after the spectacular performance at the Asian Games where India bagged a couple of bronze medals in table tennis.
