Novak Djokovic rallied from a first set loss to defeat Dominic Thiem 6-7 (10), 6-0, 6-2 in his opening match of the ATP World Tour Finals in London on Sunday. Meanwhile, fourth-seeded Milos Raonic of Canada beat sixth-seeded Frenchman Gael Monfils 6-3, 6-4.

ā€œEven though I lost the first set, I thought I didn't do too many things wrong," Djokovic told reporters. "It was just the very high quality of his game that prevailed in the first set," added the Serbian, who lost the world No 1 ranking to Andy Murray earlier this month.

The Austrian edged out Djokovic in the first set that witnessed brilliant baseline exchanges before the world No 2 Serbian took control of the match in enthralling fashion. Djokovic didnā€™t drop a game in the second set and broke Thiem twice to close out the decider.

Top-seeded Andy Murray will open against Marin Cilic later today.
