Roger Federer made it an afternoon to remember for a group of 50 kids at the Paribas Open in Indian Wells, as the Swiss ace, who won his 18th grand slam at the Australian Open in January, answered their questions and even did 10 pushups after it was demanded of him by some of the children.

It showed the soft and human side of Federer, and it would only be apt to recollect here an incident relating to batting icon Sachin Tendulkar and his father.

Tendulkar Senior told Sachin, "Son, You are a cricketer and a sportsman. You are fortunate to be representing your country, and that is a great honour. But never forget that this too is another chapter in the book. If you remain humble, people will give you love and respect even after you have finished with the game. As a parent, I would be happier hearing people say, 'Sachin is a good human being' than 'Sachin is a great cricketer any day."

Federer has been a great ambassador of the game, and despite all his success has remained humble.

At the BNP Paribas Open in California, a group of young kids welcomed Federer to the press room and asked him some funny questions. Fedex answered all of them. At the end of the question-answer round, some of the kids demanded Federer to do 10 pushups and he didn’t disappoint them at all.

It sure was a big life-lesson for all the kids present during the interaction.
