Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Andy Murray, the "big four" of the tennis world, will be seen together in US Open, since their united appearance in Wimbledon last year. Novak Djokovic will be hoping to snatch his third US Open title, scheduled to be played in New York.

As he defeated Federer in Cincinnati, this Sunday, Novak Djokovic has made himself the first tennis star to have all the nine Masters titles in his name.

Having recently achieved his fourth Wimbledon title, Djokovic stands as a strong contender against world no.1 Rafael Nadal in the US Open. Djokovic has claimed the 2011 and 2015 US Open title in his name and has been a runners-up for five times. He had to opt out of the 2017 edition because of an elbow injury.

After him losing to Marco Cecchinato in Roland Garros, Djokovic mentioned that he was skeptical regarding attending Wimbledon. Winning this season’s Wimbledon, he has 31 Masters title.

“It’s a wonderful feeling. It’s been a couple of tough months for me with an injury but then winning Wimbledon and Cincinnati,” Djokovic said.

Rafael Nadal, on the other hand, had won the 2010, 2013 and 2017 US Open. He was successful in claiming another French Open title in June this year, although he lost to Djokovic in the semifinals of Wimbledon.

“Tennis is a high-demanding sport in terms of physical effort. I cannot forget that I am older every year,” Nadal said.

Federer's last US Open victory was in 2008. If he is successful in clinching the title this season, he will be the second oldest tennis player to have achieved the title. This Wimbledon, he had to face defeat against Kevin Anderson in the quarter-finals of the event. However, Federer is having an optimistic attitude ahead of the US Open.

“Hopefully I have a chance after 10 years to do something special again at the US Open. I can’t wait for the US Open to come around,” said Federer.

Andy Murray, however, will be playing his first slam title event, since he received a hip injury in the last year Wimbledon. Since his healing, he has featured in only seven matches and his world ranking has deteriorated to 378.

Apart from them, del Potro will be a constant threat to his opponents in the upcoming event. Alexander Zverev, who reached the final eight in French Open will also present a tough competition to others. Grabbing a runners up position in Toronto, defeating players like Djokovic and Zverev, Stefanos Tsitsipas will be an emerging challenge to deal with.
