Chennai Open | Yuki Bhambri reaches final after for third time

Yuki Bhambri defeated Korea’s Duckhee Lee 7-5, 6-2 in one hour and 25 mins in the semifinals to reach his third final at the Chennai Open ATP Challenger tournament. He will now face number one seed Jordan Thompson from Australia in the final that is scheduled to be played tomorrow.

2014 Chennai Open Champion, Yuki Bhambri defeated Korea’s Duckhee Lee 7-5, 6-2 in straight sets. The match lasted for one hour and 25 mins. With this win, Yuki Bhambri reached his third Chennai Open final against Australia’s Jordan Thompson.

Bhambri won the only break point of the first set, that ensured him a 7-5 opening set victory. Bhambri had it easy in the second game as he capitalized on the Korean’s struggles with his serve which enabled him to win 6-2 in the second. With this win, Yuki took a 2-0 head to head lead against the Korean and now gives himself a chance to be in the top 100 ranked players in the world.

Jordan Thompson defeated Spain’s Pedro Martinez in straights sets with a scoreline reading 6-1, 7-6. Jordan dominated the first set 6-1 but the Spaniard forced a tiebreaker in the second set.

Jordan took an early 3-0 lead in the tiebreaker but the Spaniard fought back with three continuous points before losing to the number one seed.
