Boris Becker has issued a plea for help to find his unaccounted Trophies which he plans to sell to pay off his remaining debts. Becker had been declared bankrupt last year by UK’s Bankruptcy and Companies Court for owing to a long-standing debt to a private bank named Arbuthnot Latham.

Boris Becker, who won 49 career titles in his illustrious career including 6 Grand Slam titles, amassed a whopping US$ 25,080,956 as a prize money in his career. However, after some failed ventures while investing his money in various businesses, he lost quite a lot of that fortune.

On 21 June 2017, the three times Wimbledon Champion was declared bankrupt by UK's Bankruptcy and Companies Court as he owed a long-standing debt to a private firm named Arbuthnot Latham which was unpaid before an assigned deadline.

On Wednesday, Becker pleaded for help to find his unaccounted trophies that included the Australian Open (1991 and 1996), Wimbledon (1985, 1986 and 1989), the President’s Challenge Cup (1985 and 1989), and the 1989 Renshaw Cup which he would want to sell to pay off his remaining debts.

“A number of the trophies of Mr. Becker’s career are unaccounted for as Mr. Becker is unable to recollect where they are located.” AFP quoted his trustees.

“Becker had helped collect some of the trophies and other memorabilia that he amassed during his career.” added the trustees

A statement was issued by the joint trustees stating, “Mr Becker and his bankruptcy trustees are therefore issuing a joint appeal to the public for any information that may assist with locating Mr Becker’s missing trophies, which include the trophies for his victories at the Australian Open (1991 and 1996) and Wimbledon (1985, 1986, 1989; The President’s Challenge Cup 1985 and 1989; The Renshaw Cup 1989).”

The BBC even set up a mail for anyone with any sort of information about the whereabouts of the trophies and asked people to get in touch with them at [email protected].
