Roger Federer has warned rival Rafael Nadal and other competitors to be prepared to face him at the Stuttgart open after his two-month breather gets over. Federer is hoping to defend his Wimbledon crown and added that his “expectations are high” for the Stuttgart tournament which starts in June.

Current World No.2 in ATP rankings, Roger Federer sent out warning signals to all his opponents ahead of the season's first grass court tournament in Stuttgart in Germany. Federer won the Wimbledon championship last year on grass which was his eighth Wimbledon Title and he will look to add another feather to his crown in this year’s first grass tournament.

The Swiss legend is now gearing up for the upcoming tournament after having enjoyed a two-month break and is very comfortable about the competition. Rafael Nadal has taken the centre stage for the past few months and has dominated his opponents on the clay court, in his classic fashion that has made him the world’s most highly ranked player. He seemed prepared to defend his French Open title after having won the Monte Carlo Masters and Barcelona Open.

“Of course, my expectations are high on grass, and I'm looking forward to playing again in Stuttgart this year,” Federer said. He further added, “The atmosphere at the TC Weissenhof is wonderful. You can immediately feel that there is much life in the club. The tournament is very well organised and spectators are there in the matches,” Federer added.

Federer and Nadal facing off would be the most highly anticipated competition with the Swiss player having added urge to defend his crown. When asked about his specific interest to play in Germany, Federer jokingly commented “It's not far away from home. And of course, it was funny to drive once again in Germany on highways.”
