India Tennis Round up | Sumit Nagal loses in ATP Challenger Poznan, Ramkumar Ramanathan bows out of Surbiton Challenger

Indian tennis player Sumit Nagal lost his second round match in the ATP Challenger Poznan in Poland against Alessandro Giannessi. In the Surbiton Challenger tennis tournament, Ramkumar Ramanathan was knocked out in the second round after losing to Matthias Bachinger from Germany.

After getting the better of Constant Lestienne in the first round, Sumit Nagal was knocked out from the tournament in the second round of the ATP Challenger tournament in Poland. He went down to Alessandro Giannessi in straight sets 5-7, 6-3, 6-3 in the second round on Wednesday. 

In the Surbiton Challenger, India’s Ramkumar Ramanathan was beaten by German 15th seed Matthias Bachinger 6-4, 4-6, 3-6 in the second round. The Indian tennis star had earlier beaten Tobias Kamke 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 in the first round of the tournament in London.

In the men’s doubles category, Ramanathan paired with Kwon Soon-woo to defeat the all Indian duo of Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and Purav Raja 6-4, 6-3 to knock them out of the tournament.

Arjun Kadhe also went down 6-4, 6-4 to Orlando Luz in the first qualifying round of men’s singles category at the Challenger at Little Rock, US. In another Challenger Tournament in Prostejov, Czech Republic, Vishnu Vardhan and his partner Nikola Cacic lost against second seed Denys Molchanov and Igor Zelenay and was bowed out of the Challenger.
