PV Sindhu moves up to career-best 7th, Nehwal back in top-10
Rio Olympics silver medallist P V Sindhu has moved up to a career-best seventh, according to the latest Badminton World Federation rankings, while Saina Nehwal returned to top-10 after making it to the quarter-finals in the recent Hong Kong Open and Macau Open.
PV Sindhu won her maiden Super Series title at the China Open last month which saw her enter the top 10 rankings to 9th last week. The 21-year-old finished runner-up at the Hong Kong Open last week before pulling out of the Macau Open. Despite this, she gained two places from her previous position to achieve her career-best ranking of seventh in the latest BWF world rankings released on Friday.

In men’s, Kidambi Srikanth, who pulled out of the Macau Open due to an injury, slipped a place to 13, while Hong Kong Open finalist Sameer Verma jumped 13 places to 30.
In doubles, the pair of Manu Attri and B Sumeeth Reddy slipped a place to 23.
