Rio Olympics silver medallist PV Sindhu has dropped out of the women’s world singles top-10 following her second round exit in the French Open last week. However, former world No 1 Saina Nehwal, who is expected to return from injury at this month’s China Open, remains at 6.

Sindhu hasn’t been able to replicate her success of Rio in subsequent tournaments, as she crashed out in the second round in the Denmark and French Opens.

Nehwal, the 2012 London Olympics bronze medallist, exited in the group stage at Rio in August after aggravating a  knee injury that forced her to go under the knife the following month.

Promising Ruthvika Shivani Gadde stays at her career-high 54.

In men’s singles, Kidambi Srikanth dropped a spot to 15 and Ajay Jayaram dropped two to 23. HS Prannoy is at 28 and Sameer Verma on 44.
