Saina Nehwal has commended PV Sindhu's courage and effort in the final against Nozomi Okuhara and she commented that she felt completely drained by just watching her game. Okuhara broke Indians hearts as she edged past Sindhu in a classic three-game encounter to clinch the gold medal yesterday.

The Women's final at the World Championships produced one of the greatest matches in recent memory as Okuhara overcame Sindhu's challenge in three grueling games. Rio Olympic silver medalist Sindhu failed to cross the final hurdle on the big stage as she lost the match 19-21, 22-20, 20-22 against Okuhara and was able to secure yet another silver medal.

After losing the first game, Sindhu fought her way back winning the second game. The third game proved to be the best of the match as the see-saw affair saw both players come up with the goods with the game on the line. Eventually, it was Okuhara who was able to get the two points in a row needed to secure the win after the scores had levelled at 20-20.

Saina Nehwal, who lost her semifinal against Okuhara, couldn't help but comment on the match that she witnessed close up. After the match, she walked up to Pullela Gopichand and lauded Sindhu’s brave effort by saying, “Mera petrol khatamhogayadekhte, dekhte (I ran out of fuel, just watching this game)! Wonderful match," reported by IANS.

Even the coach replied on his joke. "It had to end someplace. It couldn’t go on."

Later, Saina joined Sindhu on the podium as a bronze medal winner.
