IP 2017 Auction Live Updates, Player List

That is it from this edition of the IPL auction. 66 players have been drafted into different teams, with 27 overseas players making the cut. There were a few records that were broken today as Ben Stokes became the most expensive foreign player in the IPL. Tymal Mills became the most expensive foreign bowler in the IPL when Royal Challengers Bangalore purchased him for a massive Rs. 12 crore. Mohammad Nabi became the first ever Afghan player to be drafted into an IPL side. 

On the Indian front, it proved to be a slow day (as expected due to next season's mega auction), but that doesnt mean there were no surprises. Veterans Ishant Sharma and Irfan Pathan remained unsold while uncapped Thangarasu Natarajan and Mohmmed Siraj were bought for 3 and 2.6 crores respectively.

Dishant Yagnik, Risi Arothe, Ronsford Beaton, Sayan Ghosh, and Kanishk Seth have all been unsold today. That makes it 10 players in a row that have not been bid on.

Another host of players can't get franchises to bid for them. Himanshu Rana AV Wankhade, Akash Bhandari, A Herwadkar and Pankaj Jaswal have all been unsold in today's auction.

RCB are back in the bids as they get Billy Stanlake for his base price of Rs. 30 lakh

Ben Laughlin has been picked up by the Sunrisers at a cost of Rs. 30 lakhs. 

WOW there are some big upsets here. Manoj Tiwary, Thisara Perera, Parveez Rasool and David Wiese have not been able to secure a contract today. 

Mayank Dagar, Mitchell Swepson, Darren Bravo and Evin Lewis go UNSOLD in the auction today.

Navdeep Saini is able to draw a bid on the second time of asking as Delhi pay the price of Rs 10 lakh to get him into the squad.

Aksh Deep Nath and Vishnu Vinod have not been as lucky as Dubey and cannot get a franchise to bid on them as they remain unsold.

Praveen Dubey, however, does make the cut as he is picked up by RCB by 10 lakh

Wow!! We have had a host of players who have not been bid on here. Ishant Sharma, Pragyan Ojha, Ish Sodhi, Imran Tahir and Unmukt Chand have all gone unsold here in Bengaluru.

Nathan Coulter-Nile has started a bidding war here with KKR and Sunrisers fighting it out. The base price of Rs 1 crore has already been doubled. Eventually, it is Sunrisers who complete the signing at Rs 3.5 crore

Chris Jordan will represent Sunrisers Hyderabad this season after they met his base price of 50 lakhs

Saurabh Tiwary is the third player in a row to be sold in the second round of bidding as he is bought by Mumbai Indians for Rs 30 lakhs

Gujarat Lions have signed Jason Roy for Rs. 1 crore. yet again no one else bids for the Englishman apart from Gujarat and he will play for the Lions this season.

Martin Guptill is the first player to be reintroduced in the auction. Kings XI Punjab bid the base price of Rs. 50 lakhs and face no opposition as they secure his signature.

The teams will now submit a list of 20 players that they would like to bid on again. We will reconvene at 2 pm IST for the remainder of the auction.

Rahul Sharma is the last player to go UNSOLD before we take a break for lunch.

Akila Dananjaya and Nathan Lyon, too, have not been able to convince the teams to bet for them. 

Overseas players Fawad Ahmed and Micahel Beer will have to wait till the next round. 

KKR and GL were interested in the services of Manpreet Gony. However, it was the latter who acquired him for Rs. 60 lakhs.

Varun Aaron has struggled with injuries this season but the franchises seem to be keen on him after his performance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy has seen the bidding rise to Rs 2 crores after a mini war between Punjab and Gujarat. The Lions finally step down after Punjab go to Rs 2.8 crores.

Jaydev Unadkat is picked up by Pune for a base price of Rs. 30 lakhs.

Finally we have a bid. Kings XI Punjab make a base price bid of Rs 50 lakhs for Kiwi pacer Matt Henry and it is sufficient to ecure his signature.

Former Purple cap winner RP Singh's Rs. 30 lakh price appears to be too high for the franchises. 

Recently capped Glenn Phillips too cannot get any traction her as he is UNSOLD

Brad Haddin's price of Rs. 1.5 crores proves too expensive for the franchises. UNSOLD

Sri Lankan duo of Kusal Perera and Niroshan Dickwella too go unsold in the first round. 

What do the West Indians need to do here? Shane Dorwich's 30 lakh base price is not lucrative for the franchises.

Indian all-rounder Karn Sharma has started a bidding war betwen Mumbai and Gujarat. We started at Rs 30 lakhs and are past the 1 crore mark. Mumbai coach Mahela Jayawardene is in discussion with the Ambani's and they continue the bidding we are past Rs 2 crores now. Gujarat go to 3 crore but the next Mumbai bid of 3.2 crores sees Gujarat drop off. 

Yet another West Indian player ignored as Jason Holder goes UNSOLD.

Chris Woakes is up next and his recent performances in India have forced KKR to put in the initial bid of Rs. 2 crore. Sunrisers join the action and take the bid past 4 crores. However, it is KKR's bid of 4.2 crores that secure Woakes an IPL contract.

Parvez Rasool, who recently had his debut for India, goes unsold as well. 

Set 11's last player Nic Maddinson suffers the same fate as the rest has he cannot attract a bid. 

Darren Bravo has base price of Rs. 50 and he too will have to wait till the next round to have a chance to playthis season.

Not a good day for the West Indies player as Evin Lewis is not picked up by anyone. 

West Indies all-rounder Marlon Samuels, valued at Rs 1 crore, goes unsold as well. 

Aussie Michael Klinger and Indian Subramaniam Badrinathunsold go UNSOLD as well. 

Abhinav Mukund follows suit and goes UNSOLD at the first attempt. 

No surprise as no franchise opts to pick Cheteshwar Pujara for Rs. 50 lakhs.

Pravin Tambe has been signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad for his base price of Rs. 10 lakhs.

Aussie Mitchell Swepson has gone unsold aas no one was interested in bidding his base price of Rs. 30 lakhs. 

Afghanistan's Rashid Khan Arman is up next. Mumbai and Hyderabad have taken the bidding past Rs. 2 crore. The bowler's price has gone to Rs. 4 crores as Sunrisers close out the deal.

Sarabjeet Singh Ladda is UNSOLD in the first round.

Gujarat Lions have bought Tejas Singh Baroka for a base price of Rs. 10 lakh.

We are upto set no 10. M. Ashwin is the first player in the set and Delhi quickly get a bid in. RPS join in but Delhi have taken the bid to Rs. 1 crore and Pune fold. 

Basil Thampy has got the attention of Pune and Gujrat as the bid goes past 50 lakhs. Pune concede ground and Gujrat Lions get the bowler for Rs. 85 lakhs. 

Pawan Suyal goes UNSOLD.

Navdeep Saini is also unable to attract any suitor as he is not picked in the first round.

Nathu Singh, base price Rs. 30 lakhs, has been signed by Gujrat for Rs. 50 lakhs 

Valued at Rs. 10 lakhs, T Natarajan has already gone past Rs. 1 crore as Pune, Delhi and Punjab fighting over the TN player. Sunrisers enter the battle and raise it over Rs. 2 crore. Finally, it is Punjab get him for Rs. 3 crores.

Aniket Choudhary is up next and RCB quickly make a bid for the Rs. 10 lakh player. Gujrat comes and we have gone over Rs. 50 lakhs. RCB have increased the bid to Rs. 1 crore. We have gone past the Rs. 1.5 crore mark and both teams are still interested. It's Bangalore who get him for Rs. 2 crores.

Abu Nechim Ahmed has gone unsold at the first attempt.
