With a win over Debashis Das in the sixth round, Abhijeet Gupta is currently leading the table in the Commonwealth Chess Championship in Delhi on Thursday. MR Lalit Babu, Arjun Erigaisi, Suyog Wagh and Bhakti Kulkarni were the other notable winners on Thursday in the competition.

Four-time Champion Abhijeet Gupta continued his strong performance at the Commonwealth Championship as he defeated Debashis Das yesterday. He is now on the lead after the end of six rounds in the competition with a total of 5.5 points. M. R. Lalit Babu got the better of R. R. Laxman in 87 moves while Arjun Erigaisi managed to beat Ajay Karthikeyan in just 29 moves.

In other games of the day, Bhakti Kulkarni drew against second seed S. L. Narayanan while Suyog Wagh won against Abhijit Kunte. In a surprising turn of events, R. Vaishali got the better of M. S. Thej Kumar.
