Twitter reacts as Pakistan pull off a defeat from the jaws of draw
Needing to bat out just two sessions on the 5th day of the 2nd Test against Australia, Pakistan collapsed to an innings and 18 runs loss to hand Australia the 3-match Test series. The Twitterati jumped on the opportunity to troll the Pakistani team for the loss, and here are the best of them.
Resuming their innings from 465/6 on the day 5 of the rain-shortened 2nd Test at MCG, Australia declared their innings at 624/8 with a lead of 181 runs. Pakistan got off to a poor start as Josh Hazlewood removed Sami Aslam in the 10th ball of their second innings, and the visitors went into the lunch break at 6/1. However, with just two sessions left to play, the match was seemingly heading for a draw, especially when Azhar Ali and Younis Khan were batting together. But Nathan Lyon finally came to the party for Australia, and the off-spinner dismantled the Pakistani middle order, picking up three wickets in the process. Mitchell Starc cleaned up the lower order to bowl out Pakistan for 163, as Australia took an unassailable lead in the three-match series.
