WATCH, BBL | Warner inadvertently smacks himself on head courtesy of broken flailing bat

Few players show the knack of being as high on confidence as David Warner is when he comes out to bat, yet amusing circumstances saw the batter hilariously punishing himself. The opener's bat was left dangling by the handle in Hobart on Friday and the willow ensured it left a mark on the Oz legend.

Bellerive Oval was the venue for a highly anticipated top-of-the-table Big Bash League clash on Friday as the Syndey Thunders took on the Hobart Hurricanes with a win practically set to guarantee the teams a spot in the playoffs. The hosts chose to chase after winning the toss and out came to open the dynamic duo of skipper David Warner and newly-inducted Baggy Green Sam Konstas. However, their partnership could not survive the powerplay as Konstas fell victim to Riley Meredith on the penultimate ball of the powerplay, but the pair was at risk of getting split in a much horrendous fashion just four deliveries earlier.

Meredith began the fourth over by angling the ball across the stumps and Warner was quick to belt the white rock down to the ground albeit it travelled straight to mid-off. To make matters worse, as Warner swung the bat past his head in the follow-through, the handle of his bat simply snapped above the shoulder and the wooden part went flailing to brutally strike the veteran square on his head. Warner immediately let out a painful groan before staring wide-eyed a this bat, unable to believe what had become of it.

Eventually, the batter could not help but flash a cheeky grin himself before calling for a new willow, one with which Warner registered a third half-century of the season.

So lucky with that!

That was scary to watch!

Hahaha!

May be another next?

LOL! Look who is worried more about the wood!
