Four-day games between India A and Australia A to be shifted out of Visakhapatnam
After the quadrangular series, now the two four-day games between India A and Australia A, which were scheduled to be played in Visakhapatnam, have been decided to be moved out of Andhra Pradesh. Reports suggest that the matches will now be hosted by the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA).
A depression in Bay of Bengal, which has resulted in heavy showers in and around Vizag has resulted in the rescheduling of the four-day games. Earlier this month, the quadrangular series, involving India’s A and B teams, Australia A and South Africa A, which was supposed to be held in Vijaywada, was moved to Bengaluru due to heavy rain.
KSCA also hosted the four-day games between India A and South Africa A as well as the quadrangular series at the Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru and the KSCA venue at Alur.
According to reports, KSCA has accepted BCCI's proposal for hosting the four-day games, which will now be held at the Chinnaswamy stadium (September 2 to 5) and Alur (September 8 to 11).
The KSCA venue located at Alur, in the outskirts of Bengaluru has three grounds and major facilities like club house and dressing rooms. Many List A and T20 matches of the BCCI have been played here before along with a Ranji Trophy game between hosts Karnataka and Delhi in 2017-18. Currently, some matches of quadrangular series are also being played here.
