Delhi Daredevils have appointed James Hopes as their bowling coach while Subhadeep Ghosh has been hired as the fielding coach for the upcoming IPL season. The duo will now join the staff that is led by former Australian Captain Ricky Ponting who was appointed as the head coach earlier this month.

After having a near perfect auction, Delhi Daredevils have now announced James Hopes as their new bowling coach and ex-Assam cricketer Subhadeep Ghosh as their new fielding coach. Hopes has been part of the IPL from 2008-2012 representing three franchises Kings XI Punjab, Delhi Daredevils and Pune Warriors India.

James had represented Australia in 12 T20 internationals scoring 105 runs at an average of 21 and also managed to take 10 wickets in those matches. He has also been part of the title-winning Brisbane Heat side in the 2012-13 Big Bash League season. After retiring from all the formats of cricket for Australia in 2016, he took over the role of coaching Queensland and Brisbane Heat.

"Once our auction strategy paid off, it was time to also appoint key personnel in the coaching staff. Ricky (Ponting) has had great inputs in both the selection of players and the support staff. We are absolutely delighted to welcome both James and Subhadeep into the Daredevils family," PTI quoted Dua saying.

Delhi Daredevils, however, have not made too many changes in the coaching staff from the previous season. Pravin Amre and Sridharan Sriram will still act as the assistant coaches for the side while Sunil Valson and Paul Close will continue as the team manager and physiotherapist respectively. Rajinikanth Sivagnanam has also been retained as the fitness coach of the side for the upcoming season.
