Ranji Trophy | Group C Day 1: Chetan Bist's unbeaten ton leads Rajasthan past 300; Odisha falter after Anurag Sarangi ton
Rajasthan wicket-keeper Chetan Bist scored a well-made 146 against Jammu and Kashmir on Day 1 of the first round of Ranji Trophy 2018-19. In another game of the group, Odisha opener Anurag Sarangi scored his maiden first-class ton against Haryana to take his team to a decent total.
Odisha vs Haryana

Odisha skipper Biplab Samantaray won the toss and elected to bat first against Haryana at KIIT Cricket Stadium in Bhubaneswar and the openers gave the home team a solid start. Odisha lost its first wicket as Sandeep Patnaik got out for 20. They kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and apart from left-handed opener Anurag Sarangi, no other batsmen had a good start. Anurag got to his maiden first-class hundred on his home ground but got out after scoring 114. At stumps on Day 1, Odisha was 232/6 in 90 overs with Shantanu Mishra (30) and Debabrata Pradhan at the crease. Mohit Sharma and Harshal Patel scalped two wickets each for the visitors.
Jharkhand vs Assam

Half-centuries from the bats of Md Nazim and Utkarsh Singh helped Jharkhand get to a respectable score of 266/6 in 80 overs against zonal opponents Assam in Ranchi. Opener Kumar Deobrat was the first man to get out on 43 while the other opener Nazim went on to score 72 before getting out. Utkarsh Singh is still at the crease with unbeaten 63 runs while at stumps the home side was 266/6 with Anukul Roy (29) being the other man in the middle along with Utkasrh. Rajasthan vs Jammu and Kashmir
It was a one-man show at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur as Chetan Bist, despite little help from other players, took the team to a total of 300/3 against Jammu and Kashmir. In the process, he also registered his highest first-class score of 146 runs. While others couldn't go past the 50-run mark, they hung on in the middle to play second fiddle to Bist, who made J & K players toil for their money. He is just 54 runs away from a maiden double ton in first-class cricket.
