An inspired innings of 82* by Wicketkeeper Akshay Wadkhar has helped the Ranji Winners to register their first victory in the elite group A of Vijay Hazare Trophy. In other matches of the group, Mumbai and Punjab also won their games easily against Goa and Railways respectively.

Goa won the toss and elected to bat, however, the decision backfired when the whole Goa team fell for 186 with only Amit Verma (46) and Suyash Prabhudessai (52) getting good scores.
