Rahul Dravid, who is currently the head of National Cricket Academy's Cricket Operations, has been issued a notice from BCCI's ethics officer Justice (Retd) DK Jain on Conflict of Interest allegations levelled against him. The complaint for the same was sent by MPCA life member Sanjeev Gupta.

According to Gupta's complaint, Dravid is allegedly conflicted in his role as NCA Director, as he is also employed as vice-president of India Cements group. This would be in violation of the BCCI’s constitution which does not allow an individual to hold multiple positions at the same time.

"Yes, I have sent a notice to Mr. Rahul Dravid last week after receiving a complaint. He has been given two weeks to reply to the allegations of Conflict of Interest. Based on his reply, I will decide whether to proceed further or not," Jain told PTI.

It is understood that Dravid will have until August 16 to file his reply, after which he may also have to appear for an in-person hearing should the officer deem it important.

Meanwhile, this is the third Conflict of Interest complaint that Gupta has filed with the board. Previously, he lodged complaints against Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman for their dual roles as Cricket Advisory Committee member as well as mentor/icon of their respective IPL franchises – Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

However, both Tendulkar and Laxman had refused that they had any conflicts whatsoever.

The other member of the CAC panel Sourav Ganguly also faced the same allegations, levelled by one Bhaswati Santua for being the CAB president as well as the mentor of Delhi Capitals.

However, that CAC panel later became defunct. A new one, headed by Kapil Dev with Shantha Rangaswamy and Anshuman Gaekwad as its members, has already been formed, and will bear the responsibility of picking the coaches for the men’s national sides.
