Pakistan continued their poor form in Australian soil as they finished with 2-Nil defeat with both losses being innings loss. Azhar Ali blamed on lack of preparation for their miserable outing. Pakistan were outplayed in all departments and they were not in comparison in any session of the series.

On Monday, after losing the second match of the series by an innings and 48 runs, it is now Pakistan’s 14th straight Test loss down under. Skipper Azhar Ali was ready to accept that their preparation for the tour was not enough and they needed a few more practice games to get into the groove before donning the whites.

"They will get a lot of benefit from that," Azhar said, adding that teams arriving in Australia early would help.

He accepted the fact that they have been outplayed in all departments and Australia are the deserving winners. When asked about the positives from the series, he said that despite all the turmoil in Pakistan’s on-field performance, there are certain positives that are illuminating rays of hope in an otherwise gloomy outing.

"We lacked in all departments in both Tests but we take some positives. If you don't bowl good line they always score quickly and you have to field well. When you get in, score big and make big partnerships. Babar has been exceptional in this series, that's a great positive," he added.

Babar Azam has been proved his capability as he scored a century in the first test followed by a 97 in the second. Leg spinner Yasir Shah also adopted to the condition as he scored his maiden Test ton.

Azhar mentioned that he was hopeful of the young pace attack to stand up for his team but that wasn’t the case as the inexperienced pack of bowlers showed no sign of dominance in the entire series.

"It's very hard here with a young bowling attack, we came with a lot of expectations but it didn't go well. We will learn a lot,” concluded the Pakistani skipper.
