Indian cricketing prodigy Prithvi Shaw received some invaluable career inputs from batting legend Sachin Tendulkar at the latter’s Bandra residence in order to regain his focus. The left-handed opener made his debut for India in the home Test series against the Windies last October.

World Cup-winning captain of the India U-19 cricket team Prithvi Shaw rose to fame after he guided his team to the U-19 World Cup title at the start of 2018 under the guidance of the great Rahul Dravid. Since then, Shaw was catapulted to the senior Indian team and made his Test debut in the Test series win against the Windies on home soil last October. Shaw is widely regarded as one of brightest batting talents to emerge in international cricket in the last 10 years and has already drawn praise from the likes of Virat Kohli and Sunil Gavaskar.

The youngster was drafted into the India squad for the crucial Test series against Australia last December but a freak ankle injury prevented him from playing a single match in Australia. However, rumours have emerged that Shaw has not been working hard enough to regain full fitness. Things got worse for the Mumbai-born lad as he had to return home after the second Test in Australia. Apart from talks of him not paying attention to fitness, there were also talk of Shaw having picked up certain habits that are harmful to his career with the national team.

According to a Mumbai Mirror report, in a bid to bounce back to his usual high standards and regain his focus, Shaw decided he must have a session with Indian batting legend - Sachin Tendulkar, who was a teenage sensation himself.

Considered as one of the best batsmen of all time and an example of correct public behaviour over the course of an illustrious career, Tendulkar spoke to Shaw on the challenges modern cricketers face. Tendulkar gave the youngster some important advice to best to deal with the pressure that comes with the job of being an international cricketer.
