‌Maharaja Trophy | Twitter reacts to furious Manish Pandey arguing with umpire over botched decision

Cricket is known as the gentleman's game and it's rare to see someone lose their cool at officials during a match. Manish Pandey underwent a similar emotion as he was seen seething at the umpire over a botched decision during the Maharaja Trophy clash between Hubli Tigers and Bengaluru Blasters.

Winning the toss and electing to field first, the Tigers got off to a good start as Vidwath Kaverappa and Manvanth Kaverappa proved lethal with the new ball. But LR Chethan’s 48 and Shubhang Hegde’s 52 helped the Blasters get to a total of 142 despite eight single-digit scores in the line-up. During the chase, Thippa Reddy and Krishnan Shrijith’s 81-run second wicket stand built the stage for the Tigers before the Blasters pegged back at them, including Pandey’s dismissal that stirred the atmosphere.

The third ball of the 16th over saw Kranthi Kumar bowl a good length delivery into the body of Pandey who tried to make room to dab it behind square of the wicket. However, the ball seamed into the right-hander and went past the inside edge en route to the keeper. Subsequently, the umpire acknowledged the appeal from the keeper and the bowler and signaled out. However, the decision didn’t quite please the batter as Manish straightaway went up to the on-field official and started arguing over the decision. For once, he even gestured towards his eye to express his dissatisfaction with the verdict, leaving the Twitterverse abuzz.
