PAK-W vs BAN-W | Twitter laughs as Nahida Akter adds salt to Fatima Sana's wounds with indirect send-off
October 2, 2025 might as well be a celebration of Asian women's cricket, with Pakistan and Bangladesh beginning their World Cup campaigns in a tournament co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Nahida Akter made sure she embraced the joyous nature of the occasion with a hilarious send-off to Fatima Sana.

Pakistan were left staring at a second successive defeat to Bangladesh in Women's World Cups on Thursday as the side slipped to 100/7 in the 30th over after winning the toss and electing to bat first. Two golden ducks in the first over itself set the tone for the encounter, including a first non-score for Sidra Amin in six years, courtesy some brilliant inswing bowling from Marufa Akter. Just when Muneeba Ali and Rameen Shameem seemed to be consolidating thereafter with a 42-run stand, Nahida Akter wielded her magic with the scalps of both in as many batters to leave all her rivals' hopes resting on skipper Fatima Sana. The veteran seemed to be up to the task with some gorgeous sweeps enroute to a score of 22 but when calamity struck, Nahida made sure she was at the forefront of celebrations.
After an authoritative slog over midwicket to begin leg-spinner Fahima Katun's seventh over with a boundary, Sana seemed to be in control as she cut the second ball firmly albeit straight to the fielder. However, her counterpart responded by dropping her length slightly and pitching a well-disguised googly on off-stump to deceive Sana all hands up. The 23-year-old pushed forward in defence but the Kookaburra beat her inside edge and thumped into her pads plumb in front of the stump to provoke a raised finger from the umpire. Nevertheless, Sana went upstairs largely out of desperation, only to have the big screen confirm the blatant. The youngster remained rooted to the pitch even as the inevitable beckoned and to send the message across, Nahida rushed behind the umpire to shadow his raised finger for the second time.
Twitterati was enthralled.
Lol!
