Chennai Super Kings are definitely not having a good time in this season. Their start was affected by the injury of two key players, MS Dhoni and Dewald Brevis. As both of them were ready to play, Khaleel Ahmed has now been ruled out of the entire tournament due to an injury.

Injury Crisis at CSK as Key Bowler Ruled Out of Tournament.

Chennai Super Kings have regained their winning momentum, as the team grabbed two consecutive wins. But as soon as they were getting ready for the upcoming match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, another setback struck them. One of the key bowlers from the team has now been ruled out of the tournament due to an injury.

And it is none other than Khaleel Ahmed. Being one of the key pace bowlers for the team, he will now be missing out on the remainder of the season. According to the reports, he sustained a right quadricep injury in the clash against Kolkata Knight Riders. He was also forced to leave the field during the over and was replaced by another bowler.

The scans took place recently and it has been confirmed that the injury is severe. He has been ruled out of action from the tournament, and will be unable to play for approximately 10 to 12 weeks. It also remains to be seen who CSK will sign in place of Khaleel Ahmed as a replacement.

Our Take

It is not a good time for CSK and the Yellow Army both. The team already started with Dewald Brevis and MS Dhoni being injured. While Brevis has returned to the team, Dhoni is also expected to be back in a few games and amidst all this, Nathan Ellis is also unclear to play this season. Now with Khaleel Ahmed being ruled out of the tournament, it puts a massive impact on the bowling line-up of Chennai Super Kings.
