The Ashes are not exactly a ground made for friendships and banter, with the rivalry spanning centuries and careers at stake. Yet, it keeps producing rare moments of banter and cooperation, such as the absurd request made by Steve Smith to Brydon Carse at the SCG on Day 3 of the New Year Test.

Australia stormed thier way to a first innings lead at the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground on Tuesday on the back of yet another half-century from Steve Smith, with the Australian captain looking destined to add to his tons tally. The veteran played a near flawless knock as he built stands with Usman Khawaja, Alex Carey, and Cameron Green to frustrate the tourists who at one point looked on track to contain the Kangaroos. As is always the case, Smith's stay at the crease was accompanied by a spree of shenanigans only he could get away with, including a lowkey hilarious interaction with Brydon Carse.

At some point in his innings, Smith hollered to Carse with a simple request -- to turn around the sunglasses perched on his cap. The lenses on the glass were reflecting too much light for the Aussie's liking
