Indian Football | Subrata Paul fails dope test
The All India Football Federation on Tuesday announced that India goalkeeper Subrata Paul has failed a drug test that was taken in March by the National Anti-Doping Agency and has to decide whether or not he wants another sample of his tested. Paul used to be India’s first choice goalkeeper.
"His sample A has tested positive," AIFF secretary Kushal Das told Reuters. NADA chief Navin Agarwal confirmed the news but refused to elaborate.
Paul, 30, is a former India captain and used to be India’s first choice goalkeeper before falling behind Gurpreet Singh Sandhu.
"It's now between him and NADA. He has to decide whether he wants his B sample tested. But of course, if he needs guidance, the federation is always there,” Das.
