ISL | All the teams in the league are very strong, asserts Cesar Ferrando
Jamshedpur FC coach Cesar Ferrando has asserted that they can’t take any team of the tournament lightly as every team has the capability to beat the other on a given day. As of now, the Jamshedpur FC are at the fifth position on the points table with a total of 16 points from 11 matches.
In their last match against Kerala Blasters, Jamshedpur FC got a hard-earned 1-1 draw and extended their winless streak to two matches now as they have won only one match in their last one match. The recent dip in form has not helped the Jamshedpur-based franchise with their standings on the points table as now they have slipped out of the top four. But nothing is lost just yet as they can get a spot back in the top four if they come back to their winning ways.
“The last match (against Kerala Blasters FC) was a very difficult match for us and we only got three days of rest (in the buildup to that game) after the match against NorthEast. After the match my players were tired. We had two chances to score but they are a good team. They wanted to win. It was a difficult match for us,” coach Cesar Ferrando said.
Jamshedpur FC will play their next encounter against the Kerala Blasters later in the evening at the JRD Tata Sports Complex. Coach of the hosts Cesar Ferrando asserted that all the teams in the league are strong and hence they will not do the mistake of taking the Blasters lightly. The Delhi Dynamos have not won even one match in the tournament so far.
“I think all the teams in the league are very strong teams. They played very well and the first task for us is to keep a clean sheet. We want to win and then improve our attacking skills. This is what we need to do. But it is a short league and every match is difficult to win. I think we are ready to play tomorrow against Delhi,” Ferrando commented.
Ferrando also revealed that Michael Soosairaj will miss out the match due to an injury. He also stressed the fact that the injury to Sergio Cidoncha had not helped the team either.
“We have a lot of will to win the game. Sergio Cidoncha’s injury has been a big blow for us. But we are going to play against Delhi. We need to win to be at the front of the league. I am very happy with the team. Everyone is working very hard. The most important thing is to not make a mistake tomorrow. Keep a clean sheet and play at our pace. If we want to win, we have to play at our pace and block their pace. But every match is difficult to win in this league,” Ferrando opined.
