Liverpool and Croatia star Dejan Lovren is reportedly ready to accept a move to AS Roma this summer, with the 30-year-old looking for first-team football. The Croatian center-back was Roma’s second choice behind Toby Alderweireld but that has now changed, with the Belgian set to stay at Tottenham.

With Tottenham star, Toby Alderweireld set to stay in North London, AS Roma have now changed their stance on Dejan Lovren. The Liverpool center-back was their second choice behind the Belgian international but now things have clearly changed. The Mirror has reported that the Giallorossi has turned their eyes towards Lovren, who is also more than open to a move.

The 30-year-old has struggled to establish himself as a first-team star at Liverpool after the arrival of Virgil Van Dijk. Furthermore, the rise of Joel Matip and Joe Gomez as center-backs has seen Lovren pushed further down the pecking order, with the Croatian making just 18 appearances in all competitions last term.

Things need to change and the Mirror adds that Lovren is happy to make the move to the Serie A in order to get first-team football. It further reports that while a fee has been set at around £18 million, Roma are confident that they can get it down to £12 million, thanks to their relationship with the Reds.

However, they will have to act fast, as AC Milan have also shown an interest in Lovren, but his £18 million valuation has caused their interest to slowly fade towards other targets.
