Jamshedpur FC coach Cesar Ferrando has mentioned that the team showed in the last game against Bengaluru FC that it could have been in the playoffs. Meanwhile, Bengaluru FC coach Carles Cuadrat lauded the efforts of the Jamshedpur-based franchise for their impressive 5-1 victory.

It rained goals at the Furnace as Jamshedpur FC outplayed Bengaluru at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur by 5-1 goals on Wednesday. Michael Soosairaj, Pablo Morgado, and Carlos Calvo dominated the action in the second half by scoring goals for the home team to ensure an emphatic win against one of the strongest sides in the league. JFC ended their campaign with 27 points this league and despite a good show failed to make it to the top four for the second consecutive season in the league and remained at No. 5 on the points table.

"In the first-half, we suffered a lot and gave away an easy goal. We could have conceded three goals. They were awarded a penalty which they didn’t convert. We recovered in the second-half and played very well. We deserved to win this match. We showed that we could have been in the top four. We converted the chances we created," said Cesar Ferrando.

When asked about the next season with Jamshedpur, Ferrando replied, "I don’t know yet. When the proposal comes, I will consider it and take my decision. We haven’t discussed the plans for next year yet."

"I am really happy to be here, I like this city a lot. Even my family came down and even they liked this place. The people here are nice and I am happy staying in Jamshedpur.”

Carles Cuadrat, on the other hand, had gone into the game with an inexperienced starting XI as he wanted to give some game time to many of the players who mostly have been out of the action this year. He had rested eight of his regular members of the team against the Red Miners yesterday as BFC ended the league stage with 34 points at the top of the table.

"Jamshedpur are a very good team. We had a lot of problems against them at home. We were close to getting three points against them earlier in the season, but they scored in the last minute to make it 2-2. They showed that they are competitive and that they are having a very good season. They were saving their goals for tonight," Cuadrat explained.

"I can tell you that Edmund Lalrindika has learned a lot today. I knew that we could have come here and lost badly. But I can do it because I have enough points. These players have to play against Tiri, Memo and they have to improve. I have to say a very big thank you to the rest of the players who have been helping them."
