Tougher days are yet to come for Manchester United, predicts Roy Keane
Former Manchester United player Roy Keane has predicted more tough days for Manchester United but feels the club should stick with their current manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Manchester United have endured one of the worst starts to their Premier League season and lie in the 10th position.
Manchester United once again put up a disappointing performance against Arsenal as they were held to a draw at Old Trafford despite taking the lead in the first half. The game ended 1-1 after Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang scored a scrumptious goal to cancel out Scott Mctominay’s effort. Sky Sports report also states that this is the worst league start for United in the last 30 years.
Roy Keane, a pundit on Monday Night Football feels more struggles are yet to come United’s way but sacking Ole Gunnar Solskjaer isn’t the right approach. When asked if United should stick with his former team-mate Solskjaer, Keane believes that the club should have more faith.
"100 per cent. They've given him the job and the contract, so support him and let him get on with it. Give him a couple of transfer windows. Are there more tough days ahead? You can bet your life there is. But they have to persevere’” Keane told Sky Sports.
"After tonight's performance? No. I think they'll improve and probably invest in January, whether there's top players available... Teams like West Ham, if there's ever a chance of getting in the top four this season is it. Top-six for Manchester United should be OK but that won't satisfy these clubs with the money they've spent. It's got to be top four," concluded the Irish.
