Haven’t learnt from our mistakes, admits Harry Kane
Harry Kane has lambasted Tottenham’s issues against Olympiacos, going on to say that the club hasn’t learnt from their mistakes. The English side was held to a draw by their Greek counterparts despite going two up within the opening half-hour only to concede two goals on either side of half-time.
This marks the second consecutive away draw for Tottenham and the second consecutive draw where the North Londoners have taken a lead, only to then let in two goals. While Olympiacos did play well and put Pochettino’s back-line under the cosh on more than one occasion, both the penalty and Daniel Podence’s goal should have never been conceded.
In the end, it proved to be too much for Tottenham to do, with them failing to get the third goal, despite a decent second half. They had their fair share of chances, with one of the best ones falling to Kane, although he was rightfully ruled offside. But the English striker in an interview, after the game, had a lot to say about his side’s performance, even adding that they could have played a lot better.
"You can see why the manager is frustrated. He has been here for five years now and we are still making similar mistakes as we were the first year. We are not young any more, we are not inexperienced. We have played in big games for club and country. We have to try to find a way to get around it and improve and get better. That is all we can try to do,” he said reports the BBC.
