Reports | Real Madrid agree €80 million fee with Monaco over Aurelién Tchouaméni
According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid have successfully held talks with AS Monaco over the transfer of midfielder Aurelién Tchouaméni and a fee of €80m plus add-ons to €100m has been agreed to by all parties. The French midfielder is set to undergo a medical before finalizing his move to Spain.
Aurelién Tchouaméni signed for Monaco in January 2020 and the midfielder has gone on to cement his status as one of the most exciting young players in European football. The Frenchman has made 95 appearances for the Ligue 1 side while scoring eight goals and registering seven assists across all competitions. The midfielder’s impressive performances in the top flight of French football attracted attention from all the top clubs in Europe as several sides looked to entice the midfielder to their clubs.
However, according to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid have won the race for the 22-year-old as they have come to an agreement over a €80 million fee, plus add-ons that could rise to a value of €100m. The Spanish side had identified Tchouaméni as one of their primary transfer targets for the summer and have now reinforced their midfield with his signing. It is understood that Paris Saint-Germain were ready to offer more than Madrid for the midfielder although the 22-year-old had already outlined his desire of joining the Spanish side.
Liverpool were also in the mix with Jurgen Klopp personally speaking to the star but like PSG, they left negotiations after the player conveyed his final decision to join Madrid. Talks between Madrid and Monaco were at the final stages and a final meeting on Monday had paved the way for the imminent transfer. It is understood that the French star has already agreed on personal terms with Madrid and will sign a deal that will keep him at the Spanish capital until 2027 with negotiations at its final stages for the player’s camp and Madrid.
