Pooja Ghatkar wins India's first medal at Shooting World Cup
Indian 10m Air Rifle shooter Pooja Ghatkar has won her first ever medal at a shooting World Cup after she finished third behind the Chinese duo of Mengyao Shi and Lijie Dong in Delhi today. Ghatkar had narrowly missed out on a medal last year against Jasmine Ser Xiang Wei in Bangkok.
Ghatkar finished with a score of 228.8 to secure the bronze medal for India at the ISSF World Cup. China's Mengyao Shi got the gold after she set a new world record, accumulating a total score of 252.1. Shi's compatriot Lijie Dong completed a China double with a score of 248.9, which was enough to get her the silver.

Ghatkar already has a few impressive medals to her name, the biggest one being the gold that she won at the Asian Air Gun Championship in 2014. The Maharashtra-born girl had narrowly missed out on a Rio Olympic berth when she failed to secure a place at the Asia Olympic Qualifying Competition last year.
This is her first @ISSF_Shooting World Cup medal and she came close twice in 2016. Was unlucky not to go to the Olympics
