The auction for IPL 2026 was a mini auction, but still it saw the players being sold for high prices. Several players stood for a long time in the auction, as the teams fought hard to get them to their line-ups. Since the IPL 2026 season is now halfway through, let's assess how each of the top buys have been able to perform in this season so far.

Cameron Green
Cameron Green was the most expensive player in the auction, being bought by KKR for 25.20 crores. In this season, he didn't have a good start but has found his rhythm lately. Green has scored 196 runs for the team in 8 innings at an average of 28 and even took 2 wickets in 4 innings.
Matheesha Pathirana
Matheesha Pathirana is yet another expensive buy in this list, who was also bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for 18 crore. Till now, he has not played even a single game for Kolkata Knight Riders, as he joined the team late due to a calf injury.
Prashant Veer
Prashant Veer unexpectedly became the most expensive uncapped player, as CSK bought him for 14.20 crore. He has played just two games for Chennai Super Kings and managed to score 49 runs at a strike rate of 136.11.
Kartik Sharma
CSK didn't just let Prashant Veer enjoy his high price tag. So, they tied Kartik Sharma with him for the same price. In the five games he played for CSK this season, he has managed to score just 58 runs at an average of 11.60.
Liam Livingstone
Liam Livingstone, another demanded all-rounder, was sold to Sunrisers Hyderabad for a whopping total of 13 crore. Livingstone has played just 2 games for Sunrisers Hyderabad in this season, and managed to score 15 runs at an average of 7.50.
