ISSF World Championships | Junior men's skeet team bags silver, Gurnihal Singh Garcha gets individual bronze

The junior Indian men's skeet team has bagged a silver medal in the finals of the ongoing ISSF World Championships in Changwon, Korea on Tuesday. Gurnihal Singh Garcha, who is a part of the silver-winning team, also managed to win bronze in the individual men's skeet team at the World Championships.

The Indian team comprising of Gurnihal, Anantjeet Singh Naruka and Ayush Rudraraju went on to get a total score of 355 to finish second in the finals. The Indian trio had earlier topped the qualifying round yesterday.The Czech Republic won the finals with a score of 356, while the Italian team finished third with a total of 354.

In the individual event, Italian shooter Elia Sdruccioli bagged gold with 55 points while American Nic Moschetti won the silver with 54. Gurnihal shot 46 to finish third in the individual events.

The women's skeet team finished ninth with 319 points while the Indian junior women's team finished 14th in 50m rifle 3 position event with a score of 3383. The shooters of the team Bhakti Khamkar (1132), Shirin Godara (1130) and Ayushi Podder (1121) failed to qualify for the finals of the individual event.

India has bagged seven gold, eight silver and seven bronze medals at the Championships. With a total of 20, India is currently placed fourth in the medal's tally.
