ISSF World Cup | Manu Bhaker, Saurabh Chaudhary bag gold in mixed team event

Indian shooters Manu Bhaker and Saurabh Chaudhary have clinched gold in 10m Air Pistol mixed team event at the ongoing ISSF World Cup in Delhi. India clinched its third medal at the event by getting better of their Chinese opponents with a total score of 483.4 in the finals on Wednesday.

The Indian duo of Bhaker and Saurabh earlier had equalled the qualification world record to enter the final round of the prestigious event in Delhi. After the first six shots, the Indian duo was at the third position with 59 points. It was Korea to get out of the race with a bronze medal first with Minjung Kim and Daehun Park scoring 418.8.

Bhaker and Saurabh went past the Chinese duo of Ranxin Jiang and Bowen Zhang who ended up with 477.7 in the end. 

Earlier in the tournament, Saurabh had won the gold medal in the 10m air pistol event and also created a world record. However, Bhaker had lost on the qualification for the Tokyo Olympics after finishing fifth in the 25m pistol event.

Apurvi Chandela was the first Indian to win a gold medal at the event in Delhi with 252.9 points in the 10m air rifle event on Saturday.

India are currently at the joint second position along with Hungary on the medals tally with three medals each in their bags.
