Asian Airgun Championships | Sarabjot Singh, Esha Singh clinch 10m air pistol junior gold medals

Sarabjot Singh has won the men’s 10m air pistol event at the ongoing 12th Asian Airgun Championship in Taoyuan, Taipei. In the corresponding event for the female shooters, Esha Singh has bagged another gold medal for India to take the overhaul tally of golds to eight in the championship. 

India won as many as three gold medals in the junior category on the fourth day of the ongoing Asian Airgun Championship in Taipei. Apart from the individual gold by Sarabjot and Esha, India also managed to clinch a team gold where Sarabjot partnered with Arjun Cheema and Vijayveer Sidhu. 

After finishing at the top during the qualifiers 10m air pistol shooting with a total score of 579, Sarabjot defeated Korea’s Kim Woojong in the final to bag the gold medal. The Indian junior shooter got a score of 237.8 to finish with a gold medal in the Championship.

Similarly, Esha had also ended at the top of the table in the qualifying round with 576 points. In the final round, she went past her opponent Yun Seonjeong from Korea and shot 240.1 to claim the gold medal in the Asian Championship. The Korean shooter finished with 235 points at the second position below Esha in the final. Harshada Nithave and Devanshi Dhama from India also qualified for the finals but finished with fifth and eighth positions respectively. 

At the end of Day 4, India has eight gold, four silver and two bronze medals in the ongoing 12th edition of the Championship.
