ISSF World Cup | Manu Bhaker, Saurabh Chaudhary clinch 10m air pistol mixed team gold
Manu Bhaker and Saurabh Chaudhary have bagged the third consecutive 10m air pistol mixed team gold at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup in Munich on Thursday. The young Indian pair got the better of Ukraine’s Olena Kostevych and Oleg Omelchuk 17-9 in the final.
After winning gold medals at Delhi and Beijing World Cups earlier this year in the 10m air pistol mixed team event, the third World Cup of the year was no different for the Indian pair of Bhaker and Chaudhary.
After a dominating performance in the first round where the Indian pair secured 586 (Bhaker - 291, Chaudhary - 295), in the final eight, Bhaker and Chaudhary managed a total of 591 (Bhaker - 294, Chaudhary - 297). In the summit clash, the Indian duo was good enough to register a comfortable victory towards the end with a margin of 17-9 against the pair from Ukraine.
Earlier on Thursday, India had bagged the gold and silver medals in the 10m air rifle mixed team category. India’s Anjum Moudgil and Divyansh Singh Panwar had beaten compatriots Apurvi Chandela and Deepak Kumar 16-2 to finish as the winners.
India ended up its campaign at the year’s third ISSF World Cup in Munich with a total of five gold medals out of 10 while China had two gold medals. The rest of the gold medals were bagged by Greece, Russia and the Czech Republic.
